Toyota To End Production of Venza

Toyota Motor Corp is ending production of the Venza crossover, a vehicle which was once termed by Toyota as a car which has been engineered by Americans for buyers in America.

In 2009 Toyota’s Venza, which happens to share its underpinnings with one of the company’s car, Toyota Camry, was recording high numbers in sales making it one of the best cars in America. 2009 was the year that the Toyota unleashed its Venza make of car. Since then the company has been struggling to sell it Venzo car and last year the car sold only 29,991 units, that’s equivalent to the number of Toyota Camry which are sold in only a month.

The production of Venza, which is made in a massive plant located in Georgetown, Ky, for the U.S. market is set to stop in June, Toyota said in a statement adding that production of Venza for export purposes is set to end in September 2017.

The move to halt the production of the Venza comes just a few months after the company had announce that later this year it will begin building its Lexus ES in America. This would be the first time a Lexus will be assembled in the U.S. and the Lexus ES will without a doubt sell more units than the Venza.

Toyota’s plant in Georgetown, Ky, employs more than 7,300 people and in addition to the Venza, it also produces a number of Toyota vehicles including Toyota Camry and the Avalon large sedan.
