Three coupes of the 1990s you don’t see today

In the 1990s, you couldn´t go to anywhere without seeing a line of coupes in the parking lot. Today, these models are part of the past, never seen again. Taking a walk down Memory Lane, let’s take a look at three coupes from the 1990s.

Audi Coupe

This car was sent overseas in the early 1990’s. In fact, only the 1990 and 1991 versions were sold in the US. This German beauty was a lighter version of the sedan. This car had a 2.0 L engine and Quattro all-wheel drive. Not many were available and the good ones were bought as soon as the price dropped which, by the way, happened fast. There are still a few out there which have been purchased by Audi enthusiasts. The price for one today is somewhere around $6000.

Hyundai Scoupe

The Scoupe, which is a combination between “sport” and “coupe”, started selling in the US by the late 1980s. It had 81 hp produced by a 1.5 L engine. One of the claims from Hyundai for this car was its sporting ability. It actually was a pretty good car that delivered responsibly.  The reason why this car stopped being produced was its particular styling and its low price. Today, a fairly decent one can be bought for $2,000 or even cheaper.

Plymouth Colt

This car received some serious competition from the Eagle Summit and Mitsubishi Mirage coupes. It carried a 1.5 liter engine producing 92 hp.  Only two models were sold in the US by Chrysler, despite efforts to sell them under many brands. Today, you will probably not see one and those that might be around may even be offered for free.
