How to Increase Your Car Mileage

Ever increasing prices of gasoline and the constant threat of exhaustion of our natural resources (mainly oil) has really changed a lot of dynamics of our life. These days it is important to make sure your car is efficient in terms fuel. An inefficient car can burn a huge hole in your pocket and also can cause long term everlasting problems. The good news is that you can follow some basic tips that will help you to make sure that your car will be efficient and it may even increase its mileage.

The first and the foremost rule is to make sure that your engine is perfectly tuned. This will help save a lot of gasoline by using it effectively as the car runs. These tune-ups are available at any auto repair shop. While driving the car, make sure that the tire pressure is optimum or the tires are properly inflated. If your tires are properly inflated, then you can save up to 5% on your gasoline requirements. Another important aspect of saving money is to use light cars or to lighten the load inside your car. Heavy cars consume more energy and hence they require more gasoline to get them into motion.

Turning off your air conditioner when you are in stop and go traffic is also a good way to save on gasoline. Your air conditioner constantly uses gasoline to keep the temperature cool and hence you find yourself wasting more gasoline. All in all, saving fuel and increasing your car’s mileage can be done quite easily all you have to do is take necessary steps.
