How to clean a carburetor

All older vehicles (petrol powered vehicles) have a carburetor. It is a system that ‘’feeds’’ an engine with the mixture of fuel and air. It isn’t complicated, but it is a very important part of your vehicle. New cars and motorcycle don’t have a carburetor. Debris and certain damages can clog small holes in the carburetor so your vehicle won’t work properly. This means that you won’t be able to drive a vehicle under full throttle or it will burn more fuel than normal.
1.    The first step is to locate a carburetor. It is located on the top of an engine. It is connected with an air filter so you can follow it in order to find a carburetor.
2.    Disconnect an air filter. It is impossible to remove a carburetor until you disconnect an air filter.
3.    Carburetor itself is held in place with just 2-3 screws. Undo them, disconnect the throttle and fuel hose.
4.    Remove the carburetor.
5.    When it is out of a car or motorcycle, you can disassemble it.
6.    Remove the bottom part of the carburetor. If there is a lot of debris, this means that your gas tank is full with dirt.
7.    You will see a couple of screws in golden color. Remove all of them and remove the debris. You can use an air compressor in order to do this.
8.    Reassemble the carburetor and fit it back to a car.
It is a good choice to install a fuel filter. It should be placed between the gas tank and a carburetor. The goal is to filter fuel and remove all debris from it.
