A Description of On Road and Off Road Motorcycle Racing
The world is full of sport fans - basketball, football, hockey, baseball, golf, and more. However, there are also those who are fans of motorcycle racing. There is not just one type of motorcycle racing. There are two motorcycle racing types in particular. These two types of racing are on road motorcycle racing and off road motorcycle racing.
Both on road and off road motorcycle racing can be run on tracks, open courses or even in circuits. There are other categories as well, such as drag racing, hill climbs, cross-country, moguls, and land speed record trials.
On road motorcycle racing has been popular for years in many places including Europe, Ukraine, and the United States. This type of racing is when motorcycles are raced on tarmac. They can happen on racing circuits that are built for this type of racing or even on public roads that are closed to other traffic.
Off road motorcycle racing is when motorcycles compete on off road tracks. These types of races have been done in many different places, such as the desert, short courses, hill climbing, rally raids and others. The roads or circuits are not paved and are for those who like to get dirty and have fun in a different way.
Each type of motorcycle racing requires a particular type of motorcycle and the rules are very strict. There are restrictions as to motor size, wheel dimensions, tire sizes, and treads etc.
